We were out of school on Monday to recognize the many presidents of The United States of America. Every president makes a huge sacrifice and works extremely hard to serve our country. There is no doubt that you have learned about many different presidents during school….who is your favorite? Why do you favor that particular president?
Teddy Roosevelt
My favorite president is Teddy Roosevelt. My favorite thing about him is the fact that he is responsible for our national parks. I absolutely love to be outdoors and I love to do things in nature. He made it possible for me to explore beautiful, well-maintained land.

Yesterday you were introduced to several new vocabulary words from Dear Mr. Henshaw. From those words, you are creating a photo museum for display. See if you can remember some of the words. Write the word and then write a sentence using the word correctly. Try to challenge yourself and use a brand new sentence, not one from our in class activity. Good luck! I can’t wait to see what you’ve got and some awesome sentences using the rules of writing studied in class.
This is a photo of the word “snoop” by Albrie, Mika, and Ethan. In Dear Mr. Henshaw a theif was stealing the good stuff from Leigh Botts’ lunch bag. These students came up with an awesome photo opportunity to represent their word. Awesome job you guys, I can’t wait to see what your project looks like when it is complete!

Our 5th grade class recently participated in winter writing promts.
Our prompt was ”Imagine that you have a friend that eats only junk food. You know that this is not good for hime or her. Think of some reasons why eating junk food is not good for people. Now, write a letter to convince your friend that eating healthier foods is a better idea.”
Students had to use previously taught writing skills to construct their paper. Many papers turned out to be great, but one paper stood out: Congratulations to Emily.
